Jayne met her friend's eyes, speaking quietly. "Clash, you do realize that whatever ill just befell...I don't have an alibi for you, and while I'm not about to mention your profession to the authorities I'm suspicious?" In silence, she approached the seat, light at the ready.

Clash wormed his way through the crowd, eventually getting to the seat. With Jayne's light, the scene was evident. A women sat in the seat, her mouth gaping open and her eyes glassy with fear. A handle protruded from her chest, and the surrounding area of her shirt was a dark red. Clash stepped forward and looked at the body, pressing two fingers against the woman's neck for a brief moment. He then retracted his hand and looked to Jayne, shaking his head. "What should our first course of action be?" He asked, knowing Jayne was probably better suited to take lead in a case that required wit and logic to solve.

The vixen sighed and briefly lowered her head after seeing the scene. "I commend her soul to the care of the heavenly light; there is little more I can do from here. Our course of action is to leave the train before we can be questioned." Of course, the unadded statement was the continuing belief that her friend was involved in the murder due to the inauspicious circumstances. Once more the train pulled into light, and over the intercom it was announced that they were only moments away; Jayne pulled on Clash's paw. "Let's get moving."

Clash felt Jayne tug on his paw as he couldn't help but watch just how terrified everyone really was. He felt a sense of guilt deep down. He hadn't committed this murder, but the effect of the killing is what got him. He saw a few adults trying to comfort a child who kept repeating, "What's wrong with mommy..? Is my mommy alright..?" Clash then thought of the people he killed. Did they have families as well? Did he cause grief like this? "...Y-Yeah... Let's go..." Clash said, following Jayne's lead.

The vixen sighed as she led through the cars apace, stopping on the observation deck at the back at about the same time the train screeched to a halt. Attempting to absorb inertia, she leaned on a support rail, then spun around. "...I imagine both of us have seen more than our share of the departed in our respective careers..." Once certain that the train had stopped, she took brisk steps to the outer railing and hopped over, landing with dust just off the track. "It should be just a couple miles from here..."

Clash hopped over the railing, rolling slightly before getting to his feet. "Right. We'll get there in no time." Clash said, nodding to Jayne to show he was ready to start getting a move on. But in the recess of his mind, he was having a lot of conflict. Murder was murder. Paid or not, Clash had done it. Had he killed bad people? Yes. Had he killed good people? Quite possibly. After seeing the real cause and effect, he was really having mental war.

Jayne nodded, taking a few steps at a time, occasionally glancing back at Clash. She could divine, certainly, that a matter of gravity was on her friend's mind...but what exactly this might be went beyond her prescience. Still on edge from the earlier encounter with death, neither did it cross her mind to ask. "...hoverboards of this kind usually fall into categories of speed, flight, or strength, and depend a lot on the user's tendencies and abilities..."

Clash slowly shifted back to the topic at hand and he blinked, hearing Jayne's question. "O-Oh... Sorry... I was just daydreaming." He said, thinking over the three kinds of boards. "Which type do you think suits me?" He said, scratching his head as he pondered the options.

Turning around and starting to walk backwards, the kitsune continued the discussion.  "Well, no offense, but you're not one of the faster or lighter hedgehogs around, which probably has a lot to do with your equipment..."  Her tails waving slowly, she continued walking backwards up a hill, facing Clash with her arms crossed.  "So a Power-type board, at least towards the start."

Clash nodded, listening to Jayne's advice on getting a power board. "Makes sense. And giving up a little speed for extra protection is a pretty fair trade-off." Clash said, not really minding being a slow hedgehog. "So, after I get a board and learn the basics, how about we race around Hilltop Heights? The hilly terrain could make for some sweet tricks."

Jayne nodded. "Although the idea is that having a board will help make you faster, just not as fast as, say, a Speed 'boarder." She shrugged, continuing to hike backwards. "Racing will probably help you practice, aye, though we may want to follow your temple lead as well...or, if it works out such, another day." After cresting the hill, the vixen glanced backwards, spun around, and then pointed to a solitary house built into the next hillside. "Right over there."

Clash nodded and approached the building, nearing the door, he looked the place over and then raised his paw, giving a few knocks on the door before waiting a bit. "So, is this board maker well-known? The only two people I've heard of that make these things are Miles Prower and the Babylon Rouge, Wave." Clash said, intrigued there was someone else on par with the skill to make such equipment.

"...um. Clash." Jayne slid open a pad next to the door and pressed her left forepaw against it. After a white line passed through the while length of the pad, it briefly flashed a green light. At the same time, a 'click' emanated from the lock and silver vixen closed the pad. "I live here, remember? It's just that the board engineer runs her business from a workshop she and I share. As for your question...no, Skyy is not widely-known, and I think she prefers her anonymity."

Clash blinked and then blushed, giving a nervous chuckle as he rubbed the back of his head, ruffling up his green quills. "Oh... Right..." He then cleared his throat and straightened up. "After you." He said, making sure to wipe his shoes on the welcome mat. He tried his best to look surly after his total air-head moment, which he was known to have happen more often than he would like.

Smiling softly at the hedgehog, Jayne opened the door and led into a comfortable living room, though the steel-blue walls that spread out indicated a fairly open floor-plan. She peered around, but seeing no other fur, continued inward. "Welcome, by the way...anything I can get for you?" She retrieved her board and set it in a rack near the door.

Clash looked at the nice living room and he whistled slightly, slowly taking it all in. This single room was more than likely bigger than his apartment. "Woah... Nice place!" He said, then hearing Jayne's question. "I'm alright, Thanks though." He said, grateful for Jayne's hospitality. Then again, out in the hilly terrain she may not get many visitors.

Jayne smiled again while looking around, then turned back to Clash, fairly beaming. "Thanks! And...well, if you don't want anything, we can head down to the workshop." Taking the lead once more, she opened a door, leading down three flights of stairs to an open area, sounds of ticking and machinery increasing as they approached. Various devices and electronics in various states of completion were scattered about on tables and floor alike, but Jayne led into a decluttered area around the door and walked towards her left, towards rows of hoverboards.

Clash had to resist the urge not to touch anything, and there were so many shiny objects and whirring machines, it made it even harder not to touch something. When he saw the rows of hoverboards, however, everything else seemed much less significant. "Woah... There's so many..." He said, his dark purple eyes rapidly looking over all the boards.

The vixen watched for her friend's reaction and giggled pleasantly. The sparkle in eyes around cool stuff was always so much fun. "Uh-huh!" Taking steps around, she shifted the racks a bit until one of the seven was in the front, differentiated by its vermillion coloration. "This red rack has the Power models we make...most of them are fairly unique to this workshop, and I can probably tell you a bit and add some custom work once you find one you like...though I'm not even half as knowledgeable as Skyy is." A brief pause and a grin. "At least pick one to start even though all of them are cool."

Clash looked up and down the row of boards and he rubbed the top of his head, pondering which one looked the coolest. "Man... There's so much to choose from!" He said, picking up one board and looking it over, then placing it back. Clash then picked up another board, looking at it and running his hand down it. "It's incredible... I've never seen anything like it..." The board he picked up was not very wide, but had a good thickness to it. It had a sprayed ebony color to it, with uncolored steel in the center. He smiled and ten turned to Jayne. "I like this one!"

Jayne watched, again smiling herself as well while looking over the selection.  For a moment, she lost her focus, at least until Clash picked up the darkened board and commented...at which point she smiled and watched, tails gently waving.  She crossed her arms with a critical look once he looked to her.  "The SK-49, with a lot of focus given to balance and stability...pure Power-type board, built-in energy weapon systems..."  A slight smile.  "A nice choice."

Clash whistled as he he looked at it again. Built-In weapon systems was a definite plus. Speed wasn't his strong suit, he couldn't fly for the life of him, and he wasn't known worldwide for having any real body strength. He wasn't about to excel in any of the categories, really. So built in weapons would do most the work for him, more than likely. "So what should we do now?" Clash asked, shouldering the board.

Jayne smiled. "You get a crash course is what we do. Although, like I said, that particular board has stability as one of its features." Heading for the stairs, she paused once to glance back. "Oh, and the button in the center on the back compacts it to a point it can fit in a pocket." Then the kitsune bounded up, returning towards the front door.

Clash looked the board over, then pressing a small dial on the back. Plates began shifting and sliding until it became a small disc in the palm of his hand. He then slipped it into his jacket pocket and headed up the stairs, walking alongside Jayne. "So which way to the crash course?" He asked, hoping he wouldn't have to quite literally crash into something.

Jayne paused at the head of the stairs until the greenhog caught up.  "Hello there.  And outside, mostly.  There's a rough sort of short track we can use."  A certain shine entered her eyes.  "We're gonna have fun!  ...well, hopefully both of us will." Having so said, she exited the house and walked towards the back of it.
