Overall Rules
Keep these forum-wide rules in mind everywhere. New members are expected to read and understand all of them before posting or chatting. Current members are expected to keep updated on them within a week of changes, notified by an update post to this thread.1. Thou shalt not spam. Spam is, as defined here - 'Posts with little to no merit and/or little to no content.' If anything like that crosses your mind, we have an Off-Topic forum for it.
2. Mild swearing is allowed for the sake of roleplaying in general. If you're not sure, don't start, and may Chaos help you if you're used to blue streaks. Anything seeming to violate this rule will be handled on a call-to-call basis.
3. Do not talk about, post, or link others to sexual or pornographic content. Romance is not handled under this rule. The call-to-call basis functions here as well.
4. No flaming, no trolling, no hurting other members.
4a. Steer away from topics likely to erupt into flames, including moral, ethical, and political debates and/or other arguments.
4b. No biting, chewing on, or eating other members.
5. Don't double-post. Bumping is allowed after two days, but only once per bump.
6. Double-checking to be sure you're posting in the right place with the right message doesn't take much, but it can make a huge difference.
7. We require written English. We also encourage capital letters and good grammar. Textspeak and constant abbreviations are not languages.
8. Do not publicize anything illegal (including but not limited to data theft of any type): they are not endorsed here and will be dealt with sharply.
9. Multiple accounts under control of the same person are not allowed; one is enough and any created after a banishment will be banned.
10. We're a Sonic forum. While the staff won't hunt you down for talking about other series, keep it out of the RPs and in the Chatbox or the Off-Topic forum.
10a. In case this wasn't clear: No crossover RPs outside the Non-Canon RP section.
11. No unsolicited criticism. This includes but is not limited to other members' characters, RP styles, or personal convictions.
11a. Backseat modding (telling off another user for disobeying rules) is not allowed. Bring the infraction to staff's attention.
12. Leave romance to characters. We don't want public displays of snogging or worse, and shipping is for characters, not their authors.

14. These rules are subject to change should additions or clarifications be necessary. An update post will be added to this thread and current members will get one pass for not knowing within a week of the rule's publication.
